What the work looks like
- Own the automated suite, which means maintaining it, not just running it
- Test the path a real user takes, including the ugly one
- Reproduce the bug nobody else can reproduce
- Sit close enough to the developers to catch things before the branch merges
What we look for
- The bug you are proudest of catching, and how you found it
- What you automated and what you deliberately left manual
- A defect report you wrote that a developer could act on without asking you anything
- Where you sit on the line between gatekeeper and teammate
